Comaskey · Orihuela Costa
The southern stretch of the Costa Blanca has a character all of its own — a sun-warmed coastline backed by mature urbanisations, resort towns and quieter residential streets that have been there long enough to feel genuinely settled. Orihuela Costa, Torrevieja and the communities clustered around them each carry a distinct personality, giving buyers real choice within a single well-connected region. What ties it all together is an almost year-round mild climate and a large, deeply rooted international community.
British, Irish, Scandinavian and Dutch buyers have been choosing this coast for decades, and those communities are now firmly woven into local life. English-speaking neighbours, international supermarkets, sports clubs, social groups and healthcare familiar with the expat demographic are simply part of the landscape here. The pace is relaxed without being dull — golf societies, padel clubs, beach mornings and long lunches fill the calendar, and the warmth means outdoor living is a default, not a seasonal treat.
The coastline delivers some of the region's strongest cards, with long sandy beaches — several holding Blue Flag status — stretching along the Orihuela Costa and Torrevieja shore. Golf is a serious draw too, with a solid concentration of courses catering for all levels throughout the year. Both Alicante-Elche and Murcia (Corvera) airports serve the area, keeping UK flight times short and connections plentiful.
Apartments and townhouses in well-established urbanisations make up the bulk of what is available — low-maintenance properties with communal pools that suit lock-up-and-leave owners as much as permanent residents. Detached villas feature in quieter residential pockets away from the main resort strips. The range appeals equally to retirees wanting manageable space in the sun, first-time overseas buyers and investors drawn to an established rental market.
Comaskey has been part of this community for years, not months. Our team lives and works on the Costa Blanca South, which means we know the individual character of each urbanisation, the questions worth asking before you commit, and the local professionals who can carry you from offer to keys. That ground-level knowledge is hard to replicate from a distance.
Browse our current listings across the Costa Blanca South, or get in touch with the team directly — we are always happy to help you work out which part of the region suits you best.
We have never had a client come back to us unhappy with a property we introduced — because we only recommend homes we would buy ourselves.
